The statue portrays Rei during the final phase of Operation Yamato, appearing before Shinji after he has made his decision. Her lightly seated pose emphasizes her slender build and the subtle expression suggested by her posture. Details such as the angle of her head, the curve of her body, and the placement of her fingertips at her chest have been sculpted with close attention.
Her expression is rendered with a smooth, porcelain-like finish. Her long hair—distinct from her familiar earlier appearance—is sculpted with attention to its natural flow.
